Oatmeal Stove Top Cooking Directions: Servings: 1; Water: 1 cup; Salt (optional): dash; Oats: 1/2 cup. Servings: 2; Water: 2 cup; Salt (optional): 1/8-1/4 tsp; Oats: 1 cup. Servings: 3; Water: 3 cup; Salt (optional): 1/8-1/4 tsp; Oats: 1-1/2 cups. Servings: 4; Water: 4 cup; Salt (optional): 1/4-1/2 tsp; Oats: 2 cups. 1. Bring water and salt to boil. 2. Slowly stir in oats. 3. Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook uncovered for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. 4. Remove from heat. Cover and let stand 3-5 minutes. Serve the lodge way with brown sugar, butter and cream or milk. * Make it extra special! Top with fresh or dried fruit, nuts, or a “superfood” with chia, flax, or hemp seed.
