Get Cooking: This rice is raw and must be cooked to unlock its deliciousness. Using a fine mesh sieve, rinse 1 cup rice under cold water for 1 minute and drain combine rice, 2 cups water or broth, and 1 tbsp. Butter or oil (optional, but very tasty) in a 2 qt. Saucepan and bring to a boil. Cover with a tight-fitting lid. Reduce heat to maintain a low simmer and cook for 45 minutes. With lid on, remove from heat and let steam for 10 minutes. Fluff it up with a fork and dig in. Serves 4-5. Tip: if rice is too firm at the end of cooking, big deal! Try adding 1-2 tbsp. Water and ok for an additional 3-5 minutes. Refrigeration recommended for extended shelf life. Re-closable. Press to close. Tear here.
