Dark Chocolate Detox Bites

Sometimes a little luxury is just what the doctor ordered. The gift of chocolate doesn’t just fill your heart with love, it’s also good for your mind, body and soul.

Chocolate comes from cacao beans, which are the fruit seeds that come from the cacao tree, and are full of natural plant nutrients and packed with antioxidants (just as green tea and blueberries are). To get the biggest health benefits opt for dark chocolate (65% or higher content) which has far more antioxidants than milk or white chocolate.

Dark Chocolate Detox Bites

  • 8 oz of your favorite dark chocolate
  • Dried fruit
  • Chopped nuts
  • Seeds

Pictured ingredients include goji berries, pumpkin seeds, sliced almonds, crushed walnuts and chia seeds

Chop chocolate into small pieces and place in small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir continuously until completely melted.

Lay out a piece of parchment paper. Using a spoon, pour small rounds of melted chocolate onto the parchment paper. While still melted, sprinkle dried fruit, chopped nuts and seeds.

Let chocolate set a room temperature for 2-3 hours or place in refrigerator.
