The best varieties, largest fruit, and true cherry-sweet flavor—those are the qualities that 4th generation Stemilt cherry grower Kyle Mathison strives for in his cherry orchards on Stemilt Hill in Wenatchee, Washington. Ideal growing conditions and the Stemilts’ dedication to growing the best cherries that are so good, you know they were grown and packed with passion and care.
Famous for its volcanic soils and gradual elevation changes, Stemilt Hill is perfect for Stemilt’s cherry harvest which runs from mid-July to mid-August with varieties like Bing, Sweetheart, Skeena, and Staccato.
In 2005 Kyle created an 18 acre composting farm where Kyle dreamed of feeding his beloved trees with a high-quality, natural, and prescription compost that was made by regenerating green waste from Stemilt orchards and packing facilities. Today, his compost farm saves over 500 truckloads of waste from heading to the landfill.
