Draper Valley Farms has been a Northwest tradition since 1935, and today they remain singularly focused on providing carefully raised, fresh, local chicken to the Northwest. Their brands include ROXY™ The Organic Chicken, RANGER® The Free Range Chicken and DRAPER VALLEY FARMS® No Antibiotics Ever Chicken.
Draper Valley traces their roots back to a single, family-owned egg farm in the Skagit Valley. A lot has changed over eight decades, including the switch from selling table eggs to growing chickens. But their biggest changes came through a focus on “small.” In the 1990s, with a nascent consumer consciousness around food production, they moved away from the trend toward bigger, faster and cheaper. They focused on their consumers in the Northwest … and on how they raise chickens. They removed from chicken feed the animal by-products that are often used as a cheap source of protein. They stopped the common practice of using antibiotics. They launched the RANGER® brand of free-range chicken.
Today, they follow a simple guiding principle: “the way nature intended.” All of their chickens are raised in a reduced stress environment, fed an all-vegetarian diet with no animal fats or animal proteins, and never, ever receive any antibiotics.
With farms in Washington and Oregon, a feed mill in Washington and their sole processing plant in Mount Vernon, Washington, their chicken is locally raised, locally packed and locally available.
