Purchase a Miracle at Haggen
Haggen to Help Raise Funds for Seattle Children’s Hospital through
the Miracle Balloon and Purchase a Miracle Campaigns in June
BELLINGHAM, Wash. – May 28, 2014 – Haggen, Inc. is proudly participating in two annual fundraisers for Seattle Children’s Hospital: Miracle Balloon and Purchase a Miracle.
From June 4 through June 15, shoppers at all Washington Haggen and TOP Food & Drug stores can support the hospital’s scleroderma research by making a donation of any level during checkout to receive a Miracle Balloon. Thanks to the generosity of its customers, Haggen has helped raise more than $350,000 over the past decade for Seattle Children’s through this in-store event.
Haggen is also a part of Purchase a Miracle, Washington’s annual grocery and drugstore campaign for Seattle Children’s uncompensated care fund, which helps families focus on their child’s health rather than the cost of the medical care needed to restore it.
The purchase of select products, identified by bright green Purchase a Miracle shelf tags, raises money for the hospital. Since 1988, grocery industry programs have raised more than 8 million dollars for the hospital, helping provide medical care to the region’s children, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
“All Washington children deserve access to Seattle Children’s outstanding medical care, and we are proud to once again support the hospital, its important research, and our community through Miracle Balloon sales and the Purchase a Miracle campaign,” said John Turley, Senior VP of Operations at Haggen, Inc. “The generosity of our customers is outstanding, and we’re glad to provide them with a convenient way to support Seattle Children’s and its vital work.”
“Haggen is an invaluable partner to Seattle Children’s Hospital. We are very appreciative of their ongoing support of our work, and of the children and families in our region,” said Jane Stiehl, Program Manager at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
