National BBQ Month
The month of May is the home to many great celebratory days like Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day. Did you know that it’s also National BBQ Month? With the warm weather rising and Summer on the horizon, the time to BBQ is now and there is no better way than taking it outdoors for a cookout with friends or family.
At any of your nearby Haggen stores, we have a variety of deliciousness to toss on the barbecue. For now, here are a few Haggen favorites:
1. Kobe Beef Steak & Grilled Artichoke
Very lightly oil the steak and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill each side for about 3-5 minutes and let stand for about 5-10 minutes.
For the artichoke, cut it in half and remove the furry, inedible choke with a spoon. Steam for about 20-30 minutes or until you can easily peel off a leaf. Place artichokes on the grill with the exposed side down and leaf side up, grill for about 5 minutes or until they have nice grill marks.
Haggen’s butchers have generously premade these for you! These kebobs come chopped, stacked, marinated and ready for the grill! To prevent them from sticking to the grill, we suggest to paint the surface with vegetable or olive oil immediately before laying down the kebobs. Place each kebob about 1 inch from each other and cook for approximately 10-15 minutes (2.5-3 minutes on each side of 4 sides).
