Farm Fresh Produce

Fresh, seasonal produce

Haggen has developed a large network of farmers across the Northwest to supply our stores with the most abundant, fresh, nutrient-rich selection of seasonal produce. Farm fresh produce is just one more way Haggen is committed to supporting local communities across the Pacific Northwest. We work hard to source our produce from hyper-local farmers whenever possible—that means stocking our produce department with the fruits and vegetables grown close to each of our neighborhood stores. We believe the stories of our local producers are an integral part of our story.

Visit our Local Producers page to meet the local farmers and producers that supply your neighborhood Haggen with the freshest produce around.

produce_cranberriesCape Blanco Cranberries

We have high quality, late harvest, fully vine-ripened cranberries from Cape Blanco in Port Orford, Oregon. This tart, red berry can be eaten raw or used in sauces, jellies, relishes, and beverages. A USDA study found cranberries to be in the top five foods with the highest antioxidant content per serving.

This time of year, we’re especially excited about wild Chanterelle mushrooms that flourish in our damp Pacific Northwest climate. Since they’re forged from the wild, they’re meatier and stronger in flavor than other cultivated mushrooms. Their nutty, savory flavor pairs well with creamy pasta and cured meats.

produce_satsumasStem & Leaf Satsumas

These easy to peel citrus fruits have a rich, intense colored fresh and are freshest in the winter months. They’re perfect to peel and eat out of hand and go especially well with holiday-inspired flavors. Our stem and leaf satsumas are delivered fresh from Rising C Ranch in the San Joaquin Valley.

produce_opalOpal Apples

Opal apples are exceptionally crunchy, not too tart and not too sweet, a gorgeous golden color and best of all—they don’t turn brown after you cut them. Our Opals are grown by Ralph and Cheryl Broetje in Prescott, Washington. Learn more about how the Broetjes invest in the success of each of their employees.
