Artisan Cheese Game Day Recipes
Our Artisan Cheese selection has your answer to feed all your fans during this weekend’s playoff games. Inspired by some of her favorite artisan cheeses, our Ferndale Cheese Specialist, Darcie, has crafted some simple appetizers to satisfy your football-crazed guests.
Black Pepper and Lemon Asiago Dip
Using Sartori Asiago and Pecorino Romano
Serve this dip with a sweet potato chip. It also works great with vegetables.
4 oz Sartori Asiago cheese, cubed or grated
1 oz Pecorino Romano, grated
¼ cup + 2 Tbsp sour cream
2 garlic cloves
1 Tbsp fresh thyme
Zest of one lemon
Juice of ½ lemon
½ tsp cracked black pepper
¼ tsp salt
Place all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until incorporated. Adjust seasonings. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
Cream Cheese Tapenade Spread
Using Sierra Nevada Organic Plain Cream Cheese
Serve this spread with our La Panzanella Black Pepper Croccantini Crackers (in our Delicatessen). The pepper in the cracker balances out the saltiness of the olives.
2 7oz tubes of Sierra Nevada Organic Plain Cream Cheese
½ container of Delallo Muffaletta Bruschetta (in our Delicatessen)
Soften cream cheese and mix with the Muffaletta Bruschetta until you have the desired intensity of olive flavor. Add more Muffaletta Bruschetta to taste.
Using Garcia Baquero Manchego
Popcorn without butter? You bet. The Manchego is so wonderfully rich you won’t miss the butter in this popcorn.
8 cups warm popped popcorn
¼ cup grated Manchego
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
Pop the popcorn and toss with the remaining ingredients. I like to pop it on a sheet tray in batches and heat for just a moment in the oven at 300° F to allow for the Manchego to melt.
