Reser’s Fine Foods Refrigerated Salads

Recall Date: 04/12/2016

Recall Description:

Resers Fine Foods, Inc. of Beaverton, Oregon is recalling nineteen refrigerated salad items due to notification from one of ingredient suppliers that Listeria monocytogenes may be present in one lot of onions that was used in the manufacture of these salads.

The recalled refrigerated salads were distributed to retailers and distribution centers in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NE, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, SD, TN, TX, UT, WA, WY, and British Columbia.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

Five of the affected products were sold at Haggen stores.  If you have purchased any of the following items with the affected “Use By Date” you are urged not to consume the product. Consumers who purchased these products may take them back to the store for a refund.

Recall Description:

Wonderful Pistachios Voluntarily Recalls Pistachios Due to Possible Health Risk

Wonderful Pistachios' is voluntarily recalling  several flavors and sizes of in-shell and shelled pistachios because they may be contaminated with Salmonella. The pistachios were sold nationwide. Customers who have purchased the product should not consume the product and can return to the store for a full refund. Maytag Blue Cheese

Recall Date: 03/01/2016

Recall Description:

Maytag Blue Cheese has been voluntarily recalled due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall to date.

The recalled cheese was sold cut and packaged in clear plastic wrap with scale labels reading “Maytag Blue Cheese” and with PLU numbers beginning with 2811. The product was sold from cheese cases in various Haggen NW Fresh Stores.

The potential for contamination was discovered after testing by the State of Iowa revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in two lots of product. Maytag Dairy Farms has voluntarily suspended production and distribution while the company collaborates with FDA and the State of Iowa to determine the cause of the problem.

Campbell Soup Company is recalling 14.2 oz cans of SpaghettiOs Original with a specific date, due to a potential choking hazard posed by pieces of red plastic found in a small number of cans. This plastic material is from parts of the can lining which may peel off. ONLY REMOVE AND DESTROY Product with DATE: FEBRUARY 22, 2017. Listed on the bottom of the can.

Karoun Dairies Cheese

Recall Date: 09/17/2015

Recall Description:

Karoun Dairies, Inc. announced that it is voluntarily recalling a variety of cheeses it distributes due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. To date, no product has tested positive for Listeria but in view of the association with listeriosis cases Karoun Dairies Inc. is initiating a voluntary recall in the interest of protecting public health.


Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce

Recall Description:

The FDA is investigating a Salmonella outbreak and the focus of the investigation is cucumbers. Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce has issued a voluntary Class 1 recall on their cucumbers delivered to retail stores from August 1, 2015 to September 3, 2015.

The product was distributed by Charlie's Produce to Pacific Southwest Haggen stores.

Recall Description:

A Recall has been issued on Refresh P.M. Eye Ointment .12oz. due to reports of a black particle at the time of use. The black particle, which is part of the cap, can be created by unscrewing the cap from the aluminum tube and potentially introduced into the product. 


Harvest Slaw & Broccoli Salad

Recall Description:

Real Foods of Seattle, LLC of Kent, WA is recalling 29 cases of Harvest Slaw Kit and 13 cases of Broccoli Salad Kit because it may contain undeclared peanut ingredients. No other products are impacted by this recall. This recall is being conducted in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Recall Description:

Frontier has issued a Class I recall  for products containing organic garlic powder because the ingredient has the

potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. To date, no illnesses have been associated with these products.

 

The product in question was raw materials received by Frontier which tested positive for Salmonella during a test by the

United States Food and Drug Administration. 

 

Consumption of products containing Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail

or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience

fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the

organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis and

arthritis.
