Take a Chartered Family Farm Tour
Where does your food come from? An important question that is all too often unknown, especially for young children. That’s why we’d like to send kids (and their families) on a farmed food adventure through bountiful Whatcom County. We’ll do the driving, you do the exploring! All you have to do is post on our Facebook or Twitter what your kid loves about Haggen and you could win a spot for your family on this chartered family farm tour.
Our selected winners will receive a VIP giveaway bag with prizes from local farms and reserved spots for their family on our chartered bus that will tour three local farms during Sustainable Connection’s Whatcom County Farm Tour on Saturday, September 13 from 10am-1:30pm or 2-5:30pm. To enter, post what your kid loves about Haggen on one of our Facebook or Twitter. Be sure to tag Haggen on your Facebook post or mention @HaggenFood on Twitter. All ages are welcome to participate. We’ll announce our winners on Thursday, September 4.
Here’s a little about each farm on our Chartered Family Farm Tour:
- Appel Farms in Ferndale, Washington: A family dairy making artisan cheeses for 30 years, Appel Farms offers a variety of handmade cheeses and great gift ideas for any occasion. Sampling encouraged!
- Cloud Mountain Farm Center in Everson, Washington: Known for their apples, cider, rare and hard to find fruits, vegetables, and pumpkins, you’ll be able to sample in-season fruit varieties, stroll the grounds and get ideas for your own garden.
- Bellingham Country Gardens, Bellingham Washington: Learn about their farm-to-fork process and visit the Whatcom Farm-to-School to learn about healthy local food in schools.
