Thought I’d share a new FAV of mine in the produce department, the Opal Apple. A conversation piece and sweet treat to enjoy! The color of this apple is like no other. So yellow, yet orange. Its brightness just begs you try a bite. And when you do you’ll be surprised to taste just how good it is. This apple caught my eye when I was at Haggen the other day. I asked the produce guy for a sample and he cut me the most delicious, crisp piece that I’m not going to lie I didn’t want to share it with my friend that was with me. The produce guy also told me a really neat thing about Opal Apples, when you buy them a portion of the money goes to grants that help kids grow gardens in our local company.

And for fun, I suggest you try making a new smoothie I found on this video. I did (Because I hear it could be anti-aging!) and it was tasty, the Opal apple really does hide the healthy greens too! I’d suggest adding ice to the recipe she puts together though it needs it. ;)
