June Wine Specials
Beer And Wine
We have to hope that we’ll get some good weather soon; let’s talk about some wines that refresh either actually or figuratively since they are different from the majority of wines.
Portugal’s Vinho Verde (vin-yo verd), has to be one of the best and most versatile wines around for the summer. It’s lower in alcohol, has a lively hint of spritz to it, and to top it off, it’s remarkably inexpensive! What’s not to like? This month we have the Gazela Vinho Verde on sale at $7.99 (only $7.19 when you buy four or more bottles and get the additional 10% discount).
When you have a crowd coming over, you probably look for bargains in a magnum size bottle. You’ll be happy to find the Cavit Pinot Grigio available at the good price of just $10.99 for the 1.5ltr bottle (only $9.89 in a four pack with our 10% discount). There’s a Cavit Pinot Noir too at only $11.99 a bottle, (only $10.79 in a four pack with 10% discount), WOW!
The entire world loves a Champagne cocktail and these are fabulous when you use ‘real’ Champagne I like Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Non-Vintage on sale at $29.99 ($26.99 with a 10% four-pack discount). To make a champagne cocktail place a sugar cube and a dash of Angostura bitters in a champagne flute, fill with chilled champagne, add a twist of lemon peel and you’re done: another cocktail using champagne or sparkling wine is the Mimosa, utilizing equal quantities of freshly-squeezed orange juice (to be different, you can use blood orange juice), and Champagne or sparkling wine, the Domaine Ste Michelle Brut is excellent and well priced at $10.99 ($9.89 with a 10% four-pack discount). For a touch of luxury you can sprinkle a tiny amount of finely grated best quality (Lindt) bittersweet chocolate. Hedonists rejoice!
Anyway, these are just a couple of the many choices which abound for making something unusual at the entertaining opportunities that we hope the summer will bring.
Cheers! See you next time!
